IMDB rating: 5.80 Plot: George & Kathy Lutz and Kathy’s 3 children are moving into an elegant Long Island home. What they don’t know is that 6 gruesome murders were committed there the year before – Ronald DeFeo Jr., the oldest son in the family, murdered his parents, his 2 brothers & 2 sisters by shooting them with a .35 caliber in November of 1974. No sooner are the Lutzes moved into the house than they begin seeing horrible things – the ghost of Jodie DeFeo, horribly disfigured bodies – and hearing ghostly voices throughout the house. George seems to notice it the most, and it isn’t long before he becomes a danger to those around him. When the local priest, called in to bless the house, comes charging out in horror after being swarmed by flies, he issues a dire warning to Kathy – ‘Leave that house’. The amityville horror story?
I hear some things here and there on tv and online about the amityville horror, but I don’t know what it’s all about. What I do know is that a family who lived there believed the house was haunted by a demon, but I’m far more interested about the details, what specific paranormal things happened, what evidence is there and the story behind the house and the huantings all together. I’m very curiose so if any wants to tell me the story or send a link that’d be great.
The bit about the guy shooting his family is true.

But all that stuff about haunting is just a story invented to sell books and make money, no one has had any trouble with the house since the Lutz family moved out.

A boy killed his entirel family in the house….was sent to prison…..the next peole who bought the house had problems with hauntings…….some say it’s because the dad looked a lot like the kid who committed the murders….they fled the house, leaving all possessions behind.
The new owners have had no problems.

read the book by Jay Anson or see the video Amityville Confidentials.
The book by Anson was a little bit changed and the movie was changed a lot, the Lutz family said that they told the truth and both of them passed lie detector tests. they had no control over what was written after that or what was told in the many movies.
the video Amityville confidential has two parts to it including an interview with the Lutz family for the first time in over 20 years.
I know for a fact that there are Powers and Spirits around us that do things, Things like Demons and God’s are not real, but other things are very real, this I know for a fact.
it appears that it was the spirit of an old Indian that was buried under the house, and Indian burial grounds are powerful area’s that bring a lot of activity. there are many places in and around Chicago that are still haunted due to old Indian practices and graves on those sites
